James Metz

James H. “Jimmy” Metz 94 of Munhall peacefully at home surrounded  by his family. Jimmy was the beloved husband of the late Stella Ann (Concoly) Metz, and father of seven children: Patricia Metz, James H. Metz (Ellen), Joyce Hoolahan Ardelia (Tony), John (Rusty) Metz (Florence), Linda McDonald (Tim), Carolyn Frank (John), and Janet Salandro (Mark). Grandfather of James Anthony “Tony” Metz, Suzanne Kresslein, Tomas Metz, Kimberly Fast, Kendra Winge, Brittany Metz, Zachary Salandro and Adam Salandro. Great Grandfather of Camden Fast, Charles Kresslein, Nicholas Kresslein, Alexis Metz, Morgan Metz and Emersyn Metz. Jimmy was born in New Salem, PA. to the late Ida Malone Metz. Preceded in death by his two sisters, Helen (Peg) Semonick and Alice Conway both of Republic, PA. and a dear son in law Richard Hoolahan.

Jimmy was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII and served in active duty in several overseas locations. He received several military honors including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a retiree of the U.S. Steel  Homestead Works. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, dancing and traveling. Friends received on Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc. 3511 Main St. Munhall 412-461-6394 where a Blessing Service will be held on Monday at 1:00 P.M. with Fr. Daniel Sweeney officiating.
