Albert Popovich

On Sept. 19, 2011, age 87 of Whitaker;

Albert was born in Munhall the son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Ferenchik) Popovich;

He was a Veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy, retired steelworker for U.S. Steel Homestead Works, former Council President and Councilman for Whitaker Borough, past President and member of the ACRY and a member of the Zinzee Club in Munhall;

Beloved Husband of the late Anna Marie (Sorbach) Popovich;

Cherished father of Albert (Janet) and the late Thomas Popovich;

Father – in – Law of Lynn Popovich;

Step- grandfather of Jennifer, Jessica and Jeffrey;

Brother of Ed Popovich and the late Betty Sayko, Helen Hawke, Mary Hess, George, Michael Jr., and John Popovich;

Friends received Wednesday 7 – 9 PM and Thursday 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main St. Munhall 15120 (a selected Golden Rule Member) 412-461-6394.  Panachida Service will be on Thursday at 7 PM at the Funeral Home.  Divine Liturgy will be on Friday at 9:30 AM in St. Nicholas Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Homestead.
