Alfreda Digman and Thomas Digman; brother, Thomas Digman, Jr., killed in World War II on April 29, 1944; married to Walter R. Kern, May 17, 1939, who died August 27, 1998; two sons, Glenn Thomas Kern, deceased Nov. 22, 2005 and Roger R. Kern, from California; three grandchildren, Glenn Joseph Kern (LuAnn), in South Carolina, Karen Philipson (Steve), in Connecticut and Robin Kern, in California; four great- grandchildren, Tiffany Richter, in South Carolina, Scott, Kenneth and Thomas Philipson, in Connecticut. She was the Past Matron of Homestead Chapter #139, OES; Past Royal Matron of Wilson Memorial Court #40, Order of Amaranth; served as Organist for 38 1/2 years in Messiah Lutheran Church, Munhall; served as Teacher of the Pollyanna Class in Messiah Lutheran Church for 30 years. Friends received on Wed. and Thurs. from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the GEORGE IRVIN GREEN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3511 Main St., Munhall, 412-461-6394. Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM in Messiah Lutheran Church. Order of the Eastern Star Service will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Order of the Amaranth will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
