Alice Virginia (Lacey) Jones formerly of Homestead, age 87, died November 11th in Bradenton, Florida. Born May 4, 1925 she was the daughter of Michael and Nora Lacey of Munhall. One of 10 children, she was proceeded in death by brothers Rev. James Lacey and Joseph (Violet) Lacey and sisters Mary Rita (Martin) Dunlap, Helen (Bud) Law, Sister Mary Noreen Lacey and Betty Jean (William) Kegg. She is survived by siblings Margaret (Donald) Gothe, Rev Thomas Lacey and Kathleen (John) Matta.
Alice was married for 55 years to William James Jones, now deceased. She is survived by daughter Patricia (Harry) Kantor of Bradenton, William (Nance)Jones of Pittsburgh and John (Robbin) Jones of Bradenton. She was the grandmother to Steven (Lorene) Kantor of Panama City, Florida, Daniel Kantor of Las Vegas, NV, Lacey Kantor of Tallahassee, Fl., Megan Fleischman Jones and Allison Jones both of Bradenton.
A lifelong communicant of St. Mary Magdalene and St. Maximillian Kolbe, Alice was active as an Eucharistic Minister, parish council member and treasurer of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America, The Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks and the Ladies Auxiliary of the AOH. She retired from Pittsburgh National Bank in 1990 after running the safety deposit department at the Forbes Avenue Branch.
Alice relocated to Bradenton, Florida in January 2008. She resided at the Emeritus of Bradenton Assisted Living Facility where she served as Council secretary. Alice continued to be active and still was an avid reader. Her sunny smile and quick wit will be remembered by everyone who knew her.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on November 20 at Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles Roman Catholic Church in Bradenton. Alice will later be interned next to her loving husband at St Mary Cemetery in Munhall, PA.
