Drew Martin

Drew Donald Martin, 38 of Franklin Park formerly of Munhall on October 13, 2012 at Allegheny General Hospital of kidney cancer. Beloved husband of Amanda (Iman) and loving son of David C. and Dorothy Martin; brother of David J. (Dana) Martin and Dana (David) Hester; uncle of David and Dante Hester; son in law of Jeff and Diane Iman and brother in law of Tim Iman and Fiancee Danielle. Also many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless close friends.
Drew was valedictorian of his graduating class of Steel Valley high School in 1992 and graduated from Penn State’s Scholars Program cum laude in 1997 with a major in English and a minor in World Literature. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Drew was employed at GNC, UPMC and a senior software engineer at PNC Bank. With PNC staff, Drew was a guest lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh’s Computer Science Evening Lecture Series.
Drew was a former active member of Munhall’s No 4 Volunteer Fire Co. As a member of No. 4 he served as a line officer and lieutenant.  Recently he has been involved with the Red Barn Players and he and Amanda have appeared in several plays together. He also played recreational ice hockey with the Black Ice team, and was active in Dungeons and Dragons and Battle Tech groups.
Friends received on Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at George Irvin Green Funeral Home Inc. - 3511 Main St. Munhall 412-461-6394. Munhall VFD #4 will have a service at the funeral home at 7:30 PM on Wednesday evening.
A celebration of Drew’s life will be on Thursday evening in Homestead Park United Methodist Church - 4231 Shady Ave. Munhall at  6:30 PM. Following the service, family and friends will gather at Rock Bottom in the Waterfront (Homestead, PA)
