Fr. Patrick Rager

On July 20, 2010, age 50, of West Homestead. Fr. Rager was ordained on May 11, 1985 by Bishop Bevilacqua. His first assignment was Parochial Vicar of St. Sylvester Church of Brentwood. In 1988, Fr. Rager was appointed Pastoral Counselor for the Committee for Physically Handicapped Persons within the Dept. of Special Education Programs establishing a telephone ministry for the homebound handicapped. He also was a 2nd Lt. in the US Air Force and has a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. Beloved son of Helene (Karpowets) Rager and the late Paul Rager. Cherished brother of Dorine Kasich and Elaine Rager (Hofmeister). Uncle to his special caregivers, Timothy Rager, Ryan Kerr and Brandon Hofmeister. Also many other nieces and nephews. Friends received Thursday 2-8 pm and Friday 2-5 pm at the GEORGE IRVIN GREEN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3511 Main St., Munhall (a selected Golden Rule Member) 412-461-6394. Mass of Translation will be on Friday at 7:45 pm and Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 9:30 am. Both will be in St. Therese Lisieux R.C. Church, Munhall.
