On  August 30, 2011 age 96 of Munhall.
Son of the late George A. Green and Sarah Mathieson Green formerly of West Homestead.
Beloved husband of the late Helen Gaut Green
Loving father of Donald I. (Debra) Green of Munhall and Nancy (Gary) Beresford of CO
Cherished Grandfather of Scott, Heather and Todd Green and Amy and Gary Beresford
Brother of the late Rosabell Mehaffey
Uncle of Barbara Jocoy and Sara (Randy) Carter
George is the founder and former President of George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc which he established in 1941. He is a graduate of Homestead High School, Globe Barber School and the Cincinnati College of Embalming. George is a Navy veteran of World War II.
In the community he is the oldest member of the Munhall Volunteer Fire Co. #4 (past Treasurer); member of the Homestead Park United Methodist Church and HAM Lodge # 582 and Duquesne Lodge #731, Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh and Syria Temple  and Homestead Elks Lodge 650.
Past President of Steel Valley Caravan #24 and Park View Towers.
Past Trustee of the Allegheny County Funeral Directors Association and received a special recognition in 2005 for his longtime dedication to funeral service and affiliation with the association.  In 2010 the Pennsylvania State Funeral Directors Association acknowledged George as the oldest practicing licensed Funeral Director.  George loved traveling to his farm in Ligonier and spending time with his family.


Friends received on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home Inc. 3511 Main St. (Selected Golden Rule Member Firm) 412-461-6394 a celebration of George’s life will be held on Saturday at 11 A.M. at Homestead Park United Methodist Church EVERYONE PLEASE MEET at CHURCH.
