- Surrounded by his loving family and with deep sadness, we announce the passing of John “Jack”Ednie on November 18, 2024, at the age of 77. Jack was born on February 24, 1947, in Munhall, PA to the late John and Catherine (Marsh) Ednie. Jack was the beloved husband of 53 years to Marguerite (Mayor) Ednie. Loving father of John Ednie and Allen Ednie, he is survived by his wife Marge Ednie, sons John (Christina) and Allen (Yumi) and sisters, Ellen Gault of Colorado and Jeanie Helms of Georgia.
- Jack served in the US Navy as a Radioman (RM), was a proud member of IBEW Local Union #5 for over 50 years, a Freemason, and member of the Western Pennsylvania Woodworkers (WPW). In his younger days he enjoyed playing sports, particularly basketball, and played the trumpet in his high school marching band as a lifelong fan of music. He continued to love following sports, listening to music, and working on projects around the house throughout his life. More than anything else, he loved his family and friends, and cherished their moments together.
- Family and friends received on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 2-4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall, 15120 (412-461-6394) where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 23, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Keith Kaufold officiating.
