Loretta Ann "Jimmie" Wain

Loretta (Jimmie) Wain, age 91, went to be with the Lord on February 9, 2025. Her daughter Lydia was at her side. 

Loretta was born in Homestead, PA to the late Frederick and Laura Trautman. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Laura D. (Bill) Thompson and Verna Lee (Leroy) Lynam.

Beloved wife of the late William Scott Wain for 70 years. 

Loving mother of Laura (Lynn) Clark of Canal Winchester, OH; David (Hay Wun) Wain of Basking Ridge, NJ; and Lydia Conley of Lorton, VA. 

Cherished grandmother of Brian (Demi) Clark, Heather (Nick) Mohler, Chris (Angie) Conley, Nicole (Jared), Ashley (Brett) Hoppe, and Catharine Wain. 

Great-grandmother to DeAsia, Maizie, Willa, Marcus, Hannah, Chloe, Jackson, Gemma, and Tyler. Great-great-grandmother of Danica and Myles.

Loretta earned an Associate's degree from Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh, PA in Business and was employed at North British Mercantile Insurance Company, Stationers, and The Huntington Store. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Pittsburgh, PA. She was an active member of the Westmoreland Women’s Club in Huntington, WV for over 50 years; including serving as President. She was a church member, Sunday School teacher, and a Girl Scout leader. 

 In retirement, Bill and Loretta were campground hosts at Beech Fork State Park. They also enjoyed camping at Carter Caves and various campgrounds around the country. They especially enjoyed hiking Mount Rainier. They eventually camped seasonally at River’s Edge Campground in Ashton, WV and cherished the campground community there.

 Loretta loved Kennywood Park rides, helping her father with projects, and raising her children & grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing. Every year the family would vacation on their favorite body of water: Gloucester Pool in Ontario, Canada. She also enjoyed vacationing in Aruba. She enjoyed special bonds with pets over the years; especially Hydro, Ching, Duke, and Duchess.

 A visitation will be held at George Irvin Green Funeral Home in Munhall, PA on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 6:00 - 8:00 pm, where a funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Burial, and a subsequent repast, is to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fairhope Hospice and Palliative Care (giving@fairhopehospice.org).
