Matthew Paul Riley

Matthew Paul Riley, 16, of West Mifflin, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Matt was born on December 12, 2007, to Tim and Kim (Kopie) Riley. Matt was a junior at West Mifflin High School. He was a member of West Mifflin High School baseball and golf teams. Matt also played baseball for the Mudcats.

Matt had been employed at Westwood Restaurant and as summer help for West Mifflin Borough.  In addition to his parents, Matt is survived by his grandfather Tom Riley. Matt is survived by aunts and uncles Kelly Kopie Ruperto (Eric), Jim Morency and Michael Morency (Carly). He is also survived by cousins Afton, Danny and Emily. Matt was preceded in death by grandparents Gene Kopie, Emma Kopie and Barb Riley.

Matt loved his pets, but most of all, his Loki Pokes. Matt was a walking Wikipedia of sports statistics. He loved hanging out with friends, Aliyah and playing X-Box. Matt loved eating carbs, Chips Ahoy! cookies and ice cream. Matt could beat anyone in an ice-cream cone eating contest. Matt will be remembered for his great smile and infectious laugh. Matt was always respectful and considerate of others. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. Matt was one of a kind. We will love and miss you forever, Matthew Paul Riley.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 2:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 8:00 PM in the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall, PA  15120.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations, in Matthew's name, to UPMC Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh, 4401 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
