On Wednesday May 22nd, 2024, Paul John Chervenak, 67, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Darlene (Stuart) Chervenak, his son Adam Joseph (Daniella) Chervenak, whom he adored. Grandfather to his little princess Lena Chervenak (3 months), brother Joseph Chervenak, sister Annette (Charles) Zapf, best buddy Tom (Tiny) Bodnar, whom he spent many weekends with at camp in Tionesta. Paul is preceeded in death by parents, Joseph S. and Anna I. (Ballas) Chervenak. His favorite pastime was traveling to sunny destinations with his family. Paul was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins. He enjoyed trips to the casino, completing the weekly crossword puzzle, league bowling, and lottery scratchers. Paul will be remembered by his loved ones as a hard working and generous man, someone whom you could always count on.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Their doctors and nurses treated Paul with the utmost respect and care during his treatment.
Family and friends recieved Friday, May 24, from 2-8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall 15120, (412-461-6394), where a Panachida Service will be held at 7:45 PM. Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cathedral on Saturday, May 25, at 10 AM; burial is to follow.
